The best off piste ski tour from Val d’Isere – Tarentaise tour

Not many skiers have heard of the Tarentaise tour, even fewer have done it.  Most aren’t aware you can ski in 5 ski domains in one day, now you can do so on just one ski pass. It’s called the Alpine Legends ski pass
The Tarentaise Tour is unique in France! Indeed, this off-piste route leads skiers over the majority of the Tarentaise Valley allowing them to discover the most beautiful spots on the backsides of the resorts.

This challenging off-piste circuit, generally starts in Val d’Isere, leads to the untouched Vanoise National Park all the way to Champagny and brings you to the renowned Face Nord off-piste in La Plagne. You then cross over to Les Arcs on the Vanoise Express – the world’s largest double decker cable car – before traversing the entire Les Arcs resort and eventually arriving in Villaroger. That’s 70km of non-stop skiing so you will need to be an experienced off piste skier and generally fit!
So if this is such a famous off-piste route why have you never heard of it? Simply because it used to require a high budget : once you had added the costs of a one-day lift pass for five different resorts and the return-transport to your starting point, you could have easily spent a few hundred euros (that’s without including the ski guide). But that is now history!
The three major ski resorts of the French Alps, The  Espace Killy, Paradiski & the 3 Valleys have launched a 6 day joint lift-pass allowing you to ski all over the resorts for €390.

All of this is very exciting, but it is also our duty to warn you of the off-piste dangers. Every year we hear of dozens of skiers who think they are superheroes, they go skiing unaccompanied and don’t come back. Please don’t be part of the statistics, you must book an experienced guide.
