Le Hameau du Kashmir – Val Thorens Val Thorens, France
Nestled on a hillside at the entrance to Val Thorens, right on the piste, le Hameau du Kashmir occupies an enviable location. With the majority of the property on a peaceful south-facing slope away from the hustle and bustle of the resort centre, it basks in sunshine and offers uninterrupted panoramic views.
The various buildings of the hotel surround a central courtyard and are arranged in harmony with the surrounding mountain slopes. In essence, Le Hameau du Kashmir is unassuming from the outside, yet entirely opulent once you set foot inside.
Diners can enjoy a variety of cuisine in the relaxing and peaceful confines of the hotel. As well as traditional dining in Le Karmin restaurant, the hotel also boasts Le Yack steak restaurant, which focuses on exquisitely butchered and prepared beef with influences from France to Asia. In addition, a delicious hot and cold breakfast is served to guests each morning.
Guests are treated to luxurious leisure facilities with the standard hotel swimming pool, saunas and hot tubs taken up a notch in terms of quality. The essence of relaxation has been utterly encapsulated throughout the spa area, from little touches like mood lighting, to the provision of 3 large saunas to cater for everyone at the end of a day skiing.
The panoramic views from the hotel are just as spectacular from inside the restaurants as on the outdoor sun terrace, and you’ll enjoy those same views as soon as you step out of the ski room right onto the piste each morning. Need some equipment? There’s no need to venture the 500m into resort as the hotel has a ski shop on site to serve all your needs.
Three grades of hotel suites ranging from Junior for 2 3 people to Prestige for 2 to 5 are all equipped with a lounge/kitchenette area with TV/DVD player‚ mini safe, fridge and kettle. In separate bedrooms you will find luxurious double beds (as you’d expect), as well as additional single beds or twins in the larger suites. All suites feature a private balcony. 2 bedroom apartments for 2 to 5 people are also available and include all the facilities you would need to self-cater as well as spacious and comfortable lounge areas. WiFi is complimentary in all suites and apartments as well as throughout the hotel.
A tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by local councils in European ski resorts to support the local tourism infrastructure and may include services such as ski buses, subsidised admission to amenities e.g. pools and ice rinks and events such as firework displays. The amount charged varies according to the standard and type of accommodation. It is also not paid by all skiers as it is age-dependent. Therefore it is not included in the basic price of your holiday as we do not have all skiers’ ages at the time of booking.
