Why Ski in Ste-Foy-Tarentaise?
Ste-Foy-Tarentaise is a small and attractive village located on the road from Bourg St Maurice to Val d’Isere. The mountain started life as a cult off piste area but today attracts families and keen skiers and snow boarders. It’s a great location for exploring the other big ski resorts such as Val d’Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs, La Plagne and La Rosiere, all of which are easily reach with a car.
The slopes are mainly within the tree line on wooded runs but more open higher up. The lifts tend to be slow but with one fast quad.
The après ski is limited to a handful of bars.

Expert Ratings
Beginners skiing in Ste-Foy-Tarentaise
There is a small nursery slope at the base, and another area with a rope tow at the top of the first lift. After that you can progress to a green run off the first chair and a couple of gentle blues off the second and the slopes are pleasantly quiet.
Intermediates skiing in Ste-Foy-Tarentaise
Intermediates can enjoy 1000m vertical of uncrowded reds. The higher slopes are the more difficult – the red Aiguille is a superb test for confident intermediates, who would also be up to the off-piste routes, especially the Monal Route back to base.
Advanced skiing in Ste-Foy-Tarentaise
Advanced skiers can pass happy times on and off the sides of Ste- Foys black and red runs, exploring lots of easily accessible off-piste and trees in the huge bowl.
Skiing in Ste-Foy-Tarentaise
The terrain is varied with only a handful of lifts but is unexpectedly challenging and is almost entirely in trees. Perhaps most famous for its off-piste skiing, access to virgin powder is just a few metres from the pistes.
Snowboarding in Ste-Foy-Tarentaise
Great free-riding terrain, with lots of trees and easily accessed powder between the pistes. There is a terrain park located near Cret-Serru.
Après ski in Ste-Foy-Tarentaise
Pretty quiet apart from the restaurants. The Pitchouli at the ski station is the place to go for a drink. It has table football and the occasional live music.
