Les Fermes de Samoens Apartments Samoens, France
These homely alpine apartments are just the ticket for a self-catered stay in Samoëns. You can walk to the Grand Massif Express gondola from here in around 20 minutes, or hop on the bus to be there in 10. And if you fancy starting your ski day in a different spot, it's easy to get to other nearby lifts from here too, like the Vercland and Morillon gondolas.
Tucked in a quiet spot on the edge of the village, this place fits in well with the mountain landscape. Big wooden balconies and shutters stretch around the outside, and inside there are plenty of natural materials too, from the stone fireplace to the hand-carved wooden benches and chairs. There's a cosy feel throughout, and the lounge area's a great place to spend an evening – find a comfy spot by the fire to pick out tomorrow's runs on the piste map, or play a game of pool with your mates.
You'll stay self-catered here, so you can pick up some supplies from the nearby supermarket and cook all your own meals in your apartment. If you fancy a little help with breakfast, you can pay to have fresh bread and pastries delivered right to your door. And for traditionally French fare in the evening, why not borrow a fondue or raclette set from reception and tuck into a gooey, cheesy meal to share?
When you arrive, you’ll need to pay a deposit of approx. €400 by credit or debit card for each apartment on your booking.
All apartments are non-smoking and have a kitchenette with hobs, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and tea and coffee-making facilities, as well as a TV. Towels, linen and end-of-stay cleaning (except kitchen) are included.
Cots are available to hire for approx. €7 per day or €25 per stay, payable locally. Please request at time of booking.
Ratings are based on the operator's own rating and may not reflect the property's official star rating.
The advantage of booking a self-catered skiing holiday is often the price. The disadvantages mean either eating out, which in a ski resort is often expensive, or it means having to cook your own meals, which probably means less time skiing, and who really wants to shop and then cook an evening meal after a full days skiing?
Huski, the Alps-based catering business offers a great solution, that means you can still enjoy the great value of a ski apartment or self-catered chalet and eat well without the fuss of having to cook your own food.
Huski delivers a week’s worth of dishes, freshly frozen and ready for you to just heat and serve.
Huski catering is only available to properties in French ski resorts.
