Chalet Les Jumelles Chamonix, France
Our chalet is your home from home during your stay – a place to bring your close family, a selected corporate group, or a few friends.
With six generous double bedrooms all with their own bathroom, every guest has their own space for some peace and quiet if needed.
A large entrance hall provides an area to store bikes, snowy boots, or skis and more, leaving the rest of our three storey chalet clear of clutter for you to enjoy the open-plan space.
All bathrooms are tastefully decorated, (there is a mix of showers and/or bath showers) with hand-carved wooden sinks bringing a little of the outside inside. We also like all our guests to feel pampered no matter how active you are, so we have Molton Brown products galore for you to choose from, no need to pack shampoo in your luggage.
When it’s cold outside, let the subtle underfloor heating and roaring fire keep you cosy and warm. For those wishing to relax, there is a sauna area on the ground floor which guests can use after a hard day on the slopes to ease their aching limbs.
When it comes to entertaining and socialising, there is plenty of open plan living on the middle floor including a large newly fitted kitchen. The space delivers panoramic views with all the facilities to provide a great stay for the self-catered or fully catered package.
The open plan dining room and lounge is a fully inclusive space so everyone feels involved. The thick glass dining table comfortably seats 12-14 and a lounge area with big sofas, table, fire, Sky TV, CD player. There is also a separate sitting area with an honesty bar stocked with all the essentials.
Outside you will find a terrace that wraps the entire chalet, as well as a two-sided garden for relaxing, having a BBQ and sitting on a reclaimed chairlift
Families and groups will find it easy getting lost in the views of Mont Blanc…
Whether it’s board games, music or a good book to read, the chalet is fully equipped and is located a short walk to the main town centre. Connectivity in the chalet is good via your network provider as both 3G and 4G are better here than in some UK cities. However, the broadband is slow meaning that genuine wifi is relatively limited and cannot be relied upon for large data or streaming of videos. Most networks now include EU roaming and therefore you won’t have a problem in keeping up to date with your social channels back home.
We know you will have a great time here and we can’t wait to welcome you!
Generously proportioned over 3 floor-levels, below is an approximate guide to the chalet’s layout. (Note all bedrooms can be set up as a twin or double)
Each bed can be set up as a double or separated as twin beds. Just ask us at the point of reservation. We also have travel cots and can use a ‘put-me-up’ bed in a couple of rooms for older children/ younger adults.
The chalet has a traditional French look and feel constructed approximately 20 years ago. There are some accessibility issues which we always attempt to overcome as an operator but it is worth noting the below information and speaking with us about any concerns you may have. In general terms, if you have an issue with mobility then it would be best to speak to us first.
The access road to the chalet is a public road that is relatively steep but also very quiet. We have plenty of parking on a flat paved driveway. The Chamonix high street is approximately 1km along a flat minor road that has a mix of some pavement access. Access into the chalet itself into the ground floor level is relatively easy however alternative access to the middle (first) floor can be possible from the rear of the property (slightly higher up the access road).
The chalet is on 3 floors with the ground floor doorway being approximately 70cm width. As you enter, you’ll find a boot room area followed by access to 3 en suite bedrooms and the sauna/ changing room with shower. There are 18 stairs to the living area on the 1st floor with handrail. The floor also contains access to the Cave (storage and cellar) as well as the chalet staff accommodation.
The first floor is an open plan living area which has access to the rear of the chalet via a main door. There is 1 bedroom on this floor with detached bathroom/ toilet facilities. This floor also has an open plan kitchen and large dining area. There are steep steps up to the second floor mezzanine area which contains a landing area and two principal en suite bedrooms. These floors also have balcony access to a stunning view of Mont Blanc.
Electrical information is based on continental standards and we have some UK adaptors for use within the chalet. Remote controls are available for equipment such as the main TV which has a full SKY package. Data within the chalet is relatively limited for WIFI – However, the mobile data around the chalet is good and most providers will see 4G access, if not 3G. For winter 2017 there is a chalet tablet available to use, and mobile phone reception is good.
We have access to non-feather pillows and all sheets are laundered professionally using Egyptian cotton. There are some hides/ shipskins situated in the chalet which can be removed.
The chalet’s garden is relatively large by Chamonix’ standards and the chalet itself is surrounded by level decking.
