Why Ski in Yllas?
Pronounced `U-las`, this is the largest downhill and cross-country ski centre in Finland with the greatest uplift per hour. You can now try the fantastic Arctic adventure resort of Ylläs in magical Lapland. This resort is one of the largest ski areas in Finland, uncrowded queues and a great choice of winter activities to try. The area is famous for its `blue light` in the daytime and northern lights at night. A great choice for families, Ylläs is a full service ski and sport resort.
As one of Finland’s largest ski areas, Ylläs has the country’s highest skiing points at 718m. With two main bases either side of the mountain, Ylläsjärvi and Äkäsompolo, and slopes situated a couple of miles from the resort, free bus services run to help you get around.
With a long ski season running from October through to May, ski runs spanning out through the forested landscape and frozen lakes scattering the area, Ylläs is a beautiful place to ski. The main winter months are dark a lot of the time, and the latter winter months and into spring are light almost 24 hours a day.
In the ski resort of Ylläs we offer accommodation ranging from self catered apartments in pretty log cabins to family friendly half board hotels.
