Ski Holidays in Igls
Igls is a micro ski resort which forms part of the larger Olympia Skiworld area, which totals 295km of pistes. The local Igls skiing covers just 18km, 10km of Blue and 8km of reds with the local ski range from 860m to 2247m. The larger ski area has skiing up to 3150m.
The biggest draw of skiing in Igls is its location to Innsbruck, which is just 5km away and the fact that twice a week buses connect to the Stubai Glacier and Axamer Lizum (require the full area ski pass) adds to the draw.
Igls is an ideal place to learn to ski, or for those who just a few runs are enough excitement. It's not recommended for either advanced skiers or snowboarders.
The location to Innsbruck means it’s an ideal destination for non-skiers too. With winter walks, snowshoe, ice skating all in addition to activities available in Innsbruck.

Why Ski in Igls?
Igls (pronounced Eagles) is a small ski resort just 5km from Innsbruck and is the closest of all our ski resorts to the nearest airport. It’s almost a suburb to Innsbruck and the city trams connect to the village.
The ski area is small with just 18 km of piste on the local mountain, however twice a week a bus connects to the extended Ski World ski area that includes the Stubai Glacier and Axamer Lizum (Olympic Ski World lift pass required)
The local mountain, Patscherkofel, extends to 2200m and offers 10km of blue piste and 8km of Red only. It includes 5 drag lifts, 2 chairs and 1 gondola.
The larger area includes 295km of pisted runs, of which 92km are on blue runs, 149km on Reds and 54km of black runs. The ski range is an impressive 860m to 3150m.

Beginners skiing in Igls
The limited number of runs isn’t an issue for beginners, 10km of blue runs is ideal for total beginners and the progression slopes are ideal too.
Intermediates skiing in Igls
We can’t image that many intermediates would consider a full week here unless you plan to purchase the ski pass for the bigger area.
Advanced skiing in Igls
This area is too small for advanced skiers to consider.
Snowboarding in Igls
Probably too many drag lifts to make this a good choice for boarders. There isn’t a snow park locally but at Stubai there is.
Après ski in Igls
Being so close to Innsbruck the choices are for night life are very good.
Activities off the slopes in Igls
It’s possible to catch a tram rides into Innsbruck the capital of the Tyrol with its Gothic and Baroque architecture. Locally there is snow shoe trails, ice skating and curling.
