Why Ski In Arinsal?

Andorra’s most popular resort with the British market, the ski resort of Arinsal boasts a good selection of mainly East facing slopes situated in an open bowl, most situated over 1950m. The slopes are accessed via the main Comallempla gondola, with a network of chair and drag lifts serving the ski area.

Nearby lies the resort of Pal, easily accessed by a cable car at the top of the slopes, or alternatively by bus. This provides a larger area for keen intermediate skiers to explore.

The ski resort of Arinsal is an almost village-like setting, with stone clad buildings in a long narrow strip. The accommodation we offer here mainly consists of half board hotels, but we also offer self catered apartments which are ideal for families.

Restaurants in the ski resort of Arinsal are varied, with pizza, Tex-Mex and steak houses being just some of the options available. There are also mountain restaurants dotted around the slopes, providing quick and easy snacks available at self-service counters.

The Skiing In Arinsal

Beginners Skiing In Arinsal

The majority of guests in the ski resort of Arinsal are beginners, learning to ski on the gentle nursery slopes. These can become quite crowded during peak dates, but once you’ve accomplished the basics you will be able to progress to some of the long easy blue runs throughout the resort.

Intermediates Skiing In Arinsal

For an intermediate skier, Arinsal has a variety of runs, with over 70% of the runs made up of blues and reds. However, for a wider range of red runs, head to neighbouring Pal where tree lined pistes spread over a larger mountain area.

Advanced Skiing In Arinsal

If you’re a keen advanced skier looking to try out difficult red runs and exciting blacks, then the ski resort of Arinsal perhaps isn’t the best option for you. There are a few black runs towards the top of the bowl, however it is mainly beginner and intermediate skiers who thrive here.

Snowboarding In Arinsal

Snowboarders coming to this resort should be aware that over half of all the lifts are drag lifts, but there are chair lifts seating 4 and even 6 people too. Arinsal also has its own freestyle snow park, with a large half-pipe, rails, jumps and beginners’ zone.

Après Ski In Arinsal

Arinsal’s nightlife is plentiful, with pubs, bars and discos throughout the village centre. The more lively bars are Quo Vadis, El Cau and El Cisco, but Surf pub and Rocky Mountain are favourites too. If you fancy a night of karaoke, try El Derby, although it can get quite busy at times! For a more relaxed evening, the hotel bars are best for a quiet drink.

Activities Off The Slopes In Arinsal

If you’re looking for a ski resort with lots of activities, Arinsal is a good choice. With dog-sledding, tobogganing, snowmobiling and helicopter rides to name but a few, there’s always something to do if you want a break from skiing or snowboarding.
