Austria’s equivalent of Courchevel 1850, ladies in fur coats, upmarket 4 & 5* hotels on an attractive riverside setting. It’s connected to the ever improving Arlberg ski area shared with its more famous sister resort of St Anton. It’s also where Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason was filmed.
Oberlech just above Lech, is even more upmarket, mainly 5* hotels, popular with Porsche driving Germans in their 1000’s.
This year our “ski hotel of the year” is in Lech. Now being run by one of the finest chalet operators, Hotel Theodul will run along catered chalet lines. 2017 being its first winter, its priced very well, don’t expect to get the same deal next year, we know as soon as Lech skiers hear about, it will be booked every week.

The skiing around Lech is suitable for “ladies in fur hats” beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers, the off piste is particularly good. The new lift connecting to Warth opened up even more skiing.
