Val d’Isere Le Fornet lift upgrade will get skiers up to 3,185m in just 6.5 minutes.
Le Fornet is an often-lesser visited area of the Espace Killy ski area, as most skiers staying in Val d’Isere head towards the links to Tignes’ glacier. One of the reasons this sector was ignored was slow lifts.
It’s not slow anymore, the new upgrade will be open for the 2025 ski season and will deliver skiers to the Pissaillas Glacier in 6.5 minutes.
Vallon gondola lift redevelopment will ensure less impact on the environment.
This beautiful ski area Nestles in the heart of the unspoilt sector of Le Fornet, at the entrance to the Vanoise National Park. Opening for the winter of 2024/25 season, this lift upgrade will see the Vallon de l’Iseran welcome a state-of-the-art gondola lift.
The new Vallon lift is larger than the lift it replaces which is able to seat 10 passengers, instead of 6 on the older lift, to enable quick access to the Pissaillas glacier.
Lowering the impact on the natural environment
The new gondola lift will follow the existing route, this will ensure the eco-balance of the wildflowers and fauna is not disturbed. Additionally, it will return part of the mountainside to its natural state, by the removal of some 30 ugly pylons from the old gondola lift.
