Set in Sauze’s main piazza, the Relais is just the spot if you want to be in the heart of the action – it’s even got its own après pub, so you can get the drinks in without stepping out of the hotel. And you're handy for the slopes too. Just walk 5 minutes uphill to get to the nearest lift, or save the ski legs and take the free bus that stops outside instead.

Tiled floors, warm wood and shades of red and yellow on the walls give this hotel a traditional Italian look. And with sports memorabilia on the walls, high wooden bar stalls and a pool table, The Queen's Lounge has that classic pub feel.

A hot and cold buffet breakfast and 4-course evening meal are included with your stay here. And, if you’re back at the hotel between 5-6pm you can sip an afternoon tea and coffee too. Prefer something more relaxing? You can pay a little extra and visit the spa – with its sauna and hot tub, it’s your ticket to post-ski bliss.

Getting here

• When you arrive in the resort, the coach isn’t able to take you right up to the entrance of the Hotel Relais des Alpes, so you’ll be dropped off close by. From there, your luggage will be transported for you, and you’ll have a 5-minute walk.
