Drivers to the Alps this winter will, we are assured by our Government, will be the only travellers affected by Brexit, unless they have thought to apply in advance for an International Driving Permit (IDP).

However there are three types of IDP 1926, 1949 and 1968 some skiers may need all three, depending on where you are going….. Brexit was never going to be simple, was it?

Depending on where you plan to travel you might need more than one.

To Drive in France, you will need a 1968 IDP and your UK licence.

Driving To France This Winter.To drive in Austria, you will not need a 1968 IDP for visits up to 6 months if you have a UK photocard driving licence.

Driving To Austria This Winter.To drive in Germany, you will not need a 1968 IDP for visits up to 6 months if you have a UK photocard driving licence.

Driving To Germany This Winter.To drive in Belgium, you will not need a 1968 IDP for visits up to 185 days if you have either a UK photocard or UK paper driving licence.

To Drive in Italy, you will need a 1968 IDP and your UK licence.

Driving To Andorra This Winter.To drive in Liechtenstein, you will not need a 1926 IDP if you have a UK photocard driving licence.

Driving To Liechtenstein This Winter.To drive in Switzerland, you will not need an IDP if you have either a UK photocard or UK paper driving licence.

Driving To Switzerland This Winter.To drive in Slovenia, you will not need a 1968 IDP for visits up to 90 days if you have either a UK photocard or UK paper driving licence.

Driving To Slovenia This Winter.To drive in Poland you will not need an IDP for visits up to 185 days if you have a UK photocard driving licence.

Driving To Poland This Winter.You will need a 1968 IDP and your UK licence for longer visits or if you have a paper licence.
