Take part in baking and crafts workshop, make tasty gingerbread cookies and make your own Christmas decoration as a special souvenir to remember your trip, or make the most of the snow activities including tobogganing, cross country skiing - the children even have the opportunity to drive their own mini-snowmobile. A Christmas break in Muonio is not complete without a visit to Santa. You'll be whisked off into the forest in search of Santa's secret hide out - he'll be waiting to meet you there!
Unforgettable Arctic Adventures
A stay at Harriniva Adventure Resort includes a range of exciting Arctic activities right on your door stop. Whizz through the magical snowy landscape on a snowmobile tour, or visit the arctic sled dog centre and venture through the frozen forest on a husky safari, you can also meet the reindeer at the Lappish farm. For a slower pace, explore the magical scenery on snowshoes or cross country skis and admire the pristine forest. In the evenings, try and spot the Northern Lights - given the remote location of Muonio, you have the best chance of spotting them here.
Unwind in the cosy Lodge
There is a great choice of accommodation types including the sauna rooms which have their own private sauna, or the wilderness suites which provide a touch of luxury to your stay. To add a touch of authenticity to your stay, enjoy the outdoor tepee or the sauna, perfect for cosy gatherings and storytelling under the Arctic sky. The Harriniva Adventure Resort is on a full board basis, enjoy buffet style meals and complimentary tea and coffee in the main restaurant throughout the day - children also have soft drinks available. Rooms
Standard Twin Rooms are cosy-log style rooms, and sleep up to three people with three single beds. These rooms are available for single use on selected dates, please call to book.
Sauna Rooms sleep up to four people in a cosy cabin style room. These rooms have a room with a double bed, and an open plan seating area with a sofa bed - suitable for one adult or two children. These rooms also have a private sauna.
Wilderness Suites sleep up to five people in a duplex style apartment. These suites have a double bed on the mezzanine level and an additional sofa bed - suitable for two adults or three children downstairs. These suites also have a mini-fridge and ecological Finnish hair and body products.

Meals
The Harriniva Adventure Resort is on a full board basis. Your first meal will be dinner on arrival day and last meal will be breakfast on departure day.
Each day you can enjoy an extensive breakfast buffet with a range of hot and cold options. In the evening you can enjoy a three course evening meal, the menu combines modern tastes with a Lappish touch. One evening you'll have a special Christmas dinner. Soft drinks and juice wristband included for children. There's also complimentary coffee and tea in the hotels main restaurant, plus a range of soft drinks available.

Optional extras are available to book through the hotel reception the day before the activity takes place. Optional excursions can include Aurora snowmobiling, cross country skiing and snowshoe rental. These excursions are payable locally.
Please note
Husky Safari: Times and distances are approximate and may vary due to weather conditions. All children under 12 years must be driven by a guide (5-6 children per guide sleigh). Adults (aged 18+) drive their own sleigh, with 1 - 2 adults (aged 12+) in the sleigh.
Reindeer Safari: Times and distances are approximate and may vary due to weather conditions.
Snowmobile Safaris: Times and distances are approximate and may vary due to weather conditions. Children age 4-14 yrs and will be towed behind the guide in a sleigh or pod. Children must be aged 15 yrs or above and at least 140cm tall to ride as a passenger on a snowmobile. Snowmobile drivers must be 18yrs and bring a full, photographic driver's licence with them. Snowmobiles are shared as standard. Guests wishing to upgrade to a single riders can do so at reception on arrival (payable locally). Some customers may need to upgrade locally to a single driving snowmobile (payable locally), if sharing a snowmobile is not possible in their group.
Travel insurance is a condition of booking with us, and you should ensure that your chosen policy covers the activities that you plan to take part in during your holiday. Your policy should provide cover for your own personal and medical expenses, however individual policies will not cover damage to snowmobiles or skidoos and a compulsory excess will be payable directly to the supplier of the snowmobile/skidoo excursion.
Your Itinerary
Day 1
Your Santa Breaks Reps will be waiting at Kittilä airport to warmly welcome you to Lapland. Transfer from the airport to your accommodation. Once you arrive settle in to your accommodation, pick up your suits and boots and familiarise yourself with the resort.
Day 2 & 3
You will have two or three days or activities including a husky safari, snowmobile safari, reindeer visit and sleigh ride, Christmas crafts, as well as snow and ice activities - plus the all important meeting with Santa!

Day 4 (for 4 night guests only!)

Day 5 (or DAY 4 for 3 night guests)
After a magical few days, it’s time to say goodbye to your new friends before being transferred by coach to the airport for your flight home.
